Longmatra Mango Festival- 19th July, 2025

The first-ever Longmatra Mango Festival was recently held on July 19, 2025. This festival aims to promote the region’s mango cultivation, support local farmers and entrepreneurs, and boost the rural economy.

Graced by Hon’ble MLA Shri S. Kiusumew Yimchunger and DC Shri Temsuwati Longkumer, the festival highlighted the power of local produce, community, and youth-driven enterprise.

The festival showcases various mango varieties, as well as value-added mango products like tea and snacks. It also features fun activities and competitions, such as mango-eating contests, tug-of-war, Mango on a Pole and sack races.
The event is a collaborative effort between the District Administration, Department of Horticulture, and the local community, with support from various government departments. It highlights the potential for agri-tourism and sustainable farming practices in the region, aiming to establish Longmatra as a “Mango Village” and attract visitors from outside Nagaland.
