Publish Date : 30/04/2026

KIPHIRE – The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kiphire, successfully conducted the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) 2026 on April 29th and 30th. This state-wide exercise simulated high-intensity earthquake and extreme weather scenarios to evaluate regional response capabilities.

The event began with a Table Top Exercise at the DC’s Conference Hall on April 29th, focusing on Incident Response System (IRS) protocols. On April 30th, a full-scale Mock Drill was executed across various locations, including Agape Higher Secondary School and the Market Complex. Personnel from the Home Guards & Civil Defence and Fire & Emergency Services demonstrated high-rise rescues using ladders, fire suppression, and emergency medical triage.

Operation Night Guard was also conducted in conjunction with the mock exercise simulating an Air raid scenario, a civil defence blackout situation at 1830Hrs. By testing inter-departmental coordination and real-time communication, the DDMA has significantly strengthened Kiphire’s disaster resilience and community readiness.
